Newborn survival: putting children at the centre (Richard Horton):
To place the newborn, historically neglected in global efforts, at the center of child survival--and reaffirm the moral imperative that dicatates another child survival revolution. Emphasizes the objectives of The Lancet series, including the erasure the excuse of ignorance for public and political inaction on the behalf of children.

A Continuum of care to save newborn lives (Tinker, ten Hoope-Bender, Azfar, Bustreo, Bell):
To place the newborn in the larger context of maternal and child health, and highlight the role of the partnerships in approaching solutions for mothers, newborns, and children under-five through a “the continuum of care.”
